Emma is a Cambridgeshire-based New York Times best-selling comic book writer and illustrator as well as a regular musical theatre performer. Although trained in theatre, with a background in television and having written music both professionally and for pleasure, Emma’s career has been dominated by the medium of comic books, where her knack for tight yet emotionally complex storytelling was able to flourish. As a writer, Emma is best known for her four-year run of the Life is Strange comic series and the critically acclaimed teen LGBTQ+ drama, BREAKS. She has illustrated dozens of titles including Back to the Future, Supergirl and Young Avengers. Unfolding represents her first full length musical, for which she has written the book, music and lyrics.

Liz brings to the table years of formal training across a range of musical disciplines, from playing various instruments to arranging and orchestrating music. She has performed in orchestras, bands, and numerous concerts, while also composing original works and directing choirs. Her breadth of experience complements and contrasts Emma’s perfectly, enabling her to provide support with every aspect of the show’s music—from the earliest drafts to the performances at the ADC Theatre and London's The Other Palace.
Currently Resident Director on Paddington: The Musical at
the Savoy Theatre, Grace's recent credits include Associate Director on the UK tour, Dutch and German productions of & Juliet. Directing work includes How to Make a Mess (A Totally Unauthorised Love Letter to Nigella Lawson) at Upstairs at the Gatehouse in 2026, The Glamification of Loki (BYMT at
Southwark Playhouse). Further directing credits include In Clay — an Offies finalist for Best Staging — and Sister Act (ArtsEd), alongside producing and directing the revival workshop of The Hatpin.
